Go to the nearest truck stop and you won't have any problem getting a ride back to Texas. Plenty of drivers will be more than happy to help you out of that situation.

And he wont either. Once you quit, there is nothing left for the company to incur a penny or dime in additional spending on you.

A word, maybe in your case horse is left the barn before you got it closed already, but to anyone new to industry, always save up enough to where you can get yourself home by any method from any point in these entire united states. Bus, plane, train, taxi, uber , rental etc.

If you are absolutely broke and cannot get home today, then find the local law, ask them to transport you to the local homeless shelter, then find a local job to work at a few weeks, once you have enough money in hand you will get to go home. Or... borrow a credit card against your credit and make the trip home however you can etc.

One other idea is to find a company driver with a load going outbound towards your home, make arrangements to sign a passenger waiver (Which is what you are now.. just a passenger...) and whatever other waivers the company asks you to do and boom you are home or pretty close to it. And the company owner wont have to spend a penny most likely and you are out of there.

That's all I have here. Anything else that breaches the law or involved illegal activity will get you prosecuted and you might never get home for years... or decades...

You mean like selling the tires to some owner-operator for a deep discount and putting his old worn out tires on the truck you're turning in? That's terrible advice! You should be ashamed of yourself!

    You said it, not me.

There are ways to generate a dollar in the industry. Many ways.

One time I did two sets of 18 wheels aluminum and fuel tanks one set, that took me about half a day, but for 60 dollars taken and the owners pleased with the results everyone was happy. Just a bit of elbow grease.

It wont be the first time or last time there is a opportunity to turn a dollar. But I do have certain limitations to that type of activity.

No he was thinking that if you have a fuel card and would like to fill my truck up, I would be happy to pay you $1 a gallon for the fuel.

Find a secured lot, call them and tell them you need fuel to bring it back or it will be at this location. Trust me truck abandonment will not affect your hireability when you apply at a new company and list reason for leaving "no paycheck in 4 months". That is dedication to the cause right there. I am not trying to kick your when you down but for now on you don't work for free. Apply to another company and most all will provide your transportation from Indiana to wherever their terminal is.

First, call OOIDA and give let them know what is happening. You should already be a member but if not join as soon as you can. Then call your Congressmen. I am being serious about this. It is time we took action and stopped this BS from happening.
