They are a very good company. I have been running out of their Alcoa, TN terminal for several years now. They really do have good people working for them both on and off the road. If you are up at the Rushville terminal you can talk to shawn Conley who helps with orientation now. He has been with them for 6 or 7 years and started out as a driver. Great guy and doesn't give any BS about the company. Then again, you might be able to talk to Robert Schilling as well. He likes to talk to the drivers and know their names. That doesn't happen at most places.

I did not get to speak with Robert Schilling, but I got to speak with Chip ryan and megan is my recruiter. It seems like a great company, just a little leary because I can't find too much info on them. I know they have been in business for a long time and it seems like people stay with the company is a good sign. Do they actually give you $1,000 sign on bonus or do they make it too difficult to get? Are there any catches with there referal program? It just sounds too good to be true to get a penny for every mile one of my referals drives. I was told they offer holiday pay is that true or do they screw you out of it? Do you have any issues getting detention pay? Do you have problems with breakdowns? I asked my recruiter these questions but you have to always check with a driver.

Sign on bonus is $500 after 1st month and the rest after 90 days. I haven't been able to refer anyone who we could hire but my buddy has and he is getting paid for the miles his referral runs. I get paid for holidays. No problem getting detention pay. Breakdowns happen whoever you drive for but we get breakdown pay. In my opinion you should give it a shot. If you run your clock right you can make good money. If you stop every hour or 2 for a break or stop for an hour lunch your screwing yourself.

Well I made my mind up. I am going to give Fraley & Schilling a try. I hope everyone is just as willing to talk to me after I get started and that I don't become just a number. I am starting orientation on Monday in Rushville but will be based out of Indy. I am definitely not the driver who wastes time with stopping every 2 hours. I hope everything works out. I'm very nervous going to a new company after a year with one company. I guess if you don't take risks you won't find the position you want. Maybe we run into each other sailorjohn.

Well I made it through orientation and my first couple weeks with Fraley & Schilling. So far everything has gone good. The trainers for orientation were very knowledgeable and very helpful. I needed extra help since I am new to flatbed. They had a trainer meet me for my first couple loads which made me feel more comfortable. Hauling steal coils is a different kind of beast. Every day isn't perfect, but I am treated fair. I have also been home every weekend and my pay is what they told me. So no complaints yet since I'm home when I was told, paid what I was told and the people are family driven. Does anyone have any good advice on how to handle the winter doing flatbed work?
