I'm trying to figure out if I need to slide my fifth wheel? I have a daycab and a crude oil trailer so I can't slide the trailer tandems. I just purchased the trailer and own the truck so once I get this set up I won't have to move anything around in the future.

The scales are not gonna bother you for 100 lbs. I would roll.

Slide your 5th wheel forward one notch. Hopefully you have a 13,000 pound front axle instead of a 12,000 pound.
Since you can’t change the trailer axles sliding the 5th wheel or rearranging the load are your only options.
As the other post says you probably won’t be bothered over 100 pounds, but you never know.

For your piece of mind, you can slide a notch forward if you want. But if it was me.... I would roll with it.

If you’re full of fuel, yes, slide the 5th wheel forward 1 notch if it’s available then forget about it. I’m not worried about the 100 pounds per se. it’s just that you may as well optimize your setup 1 time and be done with it but do this when you’re full of fuel.

That 100 pound over, Im not worried about it. You can burn that off in fuel tanks when you drive forward far enough. It must still be winter, making fuel somewhat heavier in density still.

I’ve got a few 2012-on Volvo days cabs, and was playing round with the fifth wheel this week, bottom scale is all the way back, top one is two notches forward, which puts the center of the king pin just past the center line between the drives. Each notch is near enough 500lbs weight transferred in my setup.

    Rockdoctor,
Is it a one compartment trailer?
If two or more compartments, who loaded it?

    It's a one compartment 200B tanker.
