Your husband needs to get away from that company.. he can get himself into a very sticky and bad situation and did a b ig hole for himself if he doesn't...
I was in a situatkon with a small company running loose leaf logs and around scale houses.. was advised but other experienced drivers to get away before I marked up my CDL...
I did, another driver opted to stay.. and is now in a world of hurt.. tickets and legal action being taken against him.. and not finding another company to take him on...
This is only one storm your husband will have to navigate through if he stays.. and not just weather related storms.. it owes it to himself and you.. and your kids idf yoh have any to get away from his company. ?Marksteven and ksouthard Thank this. -
If i was them i would report that to the local dot or state police take names and numbers as a reference and when they fired them they can sue since a complaint was made and you have reference and im sure state police or dot will stand for the driver in this case.

yes we have already discussed that but I was laid off so no money and right now that is the only bread and butter we have , however after this situation I told him to do whatever is right and safe for him and his partner and he will look for another job as I am looking for a job too . I don't like the way they are working things anyway no taxes out of paychecks yet they are company employees , no insurance of any kind , not even workers comp something doesn't feel right

He needs to record these threats and get authorities involved. I would be interested in knowing who this company is just to see how bad their safety figures are!
otherhalftw, Marksteven and armygatormn Thank this. -

What is so difficult for the boss of this company to tell the customer, "Hey, the truck was involved in a minor incident, mirror has been taken off, the roads are completely iced, there is a state of emergency, and your LTL will be there as soon as it can, we will update you as we can."
???
What is the customer going to do?? Turn green and raise hell?? It isn't that big of a deal ... IF the customer flys off the handle, is that really a customer you want to haul for anyway? .....
Tell him to run that by the boss. Also, I vote to hand in the truck when this trip is done. Drive it empty to the yard if needed. At this point, may as well just take the truck, with the load on it, to the yard and quit. Tell him to drive his own truck. -
This is simple, have Hubby tell Bossman state has road shut down, so he has to wait it out.
