Had to throw a little "humor" in there.....just couldn't resist!
-
depending on the dispatcher..ive had arguments with them about safe driving....I always stand my ground on safety..its my license..where the dispatcher sits in a office all day...if the owner tells your husband to drive unsafely, he needs to go somewhere else to work......all your husband has is his license...jobs are plentiful.....
-
It might be helpful down-the-road to make sure your husband gets some pictures of the broken mirror (if he hasn't already)... this form of evidence might be very handy if he does get fired. Good luck to your husband and his partner!

Record or film everything , talk to a lawyer .
Coercion I don't think is legal . -
The Gubberment is currently reviewing a proposed law that makes it illegal to over ride a drivers decisions out here.
Good news for a change ,
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is one step closer to proposing a rule that would prohibit coercion of drivers by carriers, shippers or receivers.
The proposal is now at the White House Office of Management and Budget for review before publication. There it joins the long-awaited elog proposal that will call for onboard recorders to track driver hours of service.
The two proposals are related by a 2011 court order that told the agency it has to make sure that carriers cannot use electronic logging to coerce drivers. In addition, the current highway law known as MAP-21 extends the coercion ban to shippers, receivers and transportation intermediaries.
The details of the agencys approach will be available when the proposal is published, perhaps by the end of March.
...Not sure if this new reg will let us shut down when tired , or things like that .Stewmeat2 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
start recording all the phone calls to the dispatch or the owner. ultimatly though, with a clean mvr he can work anywhere any time. but with tickets and accidents that isnt true. tell the boss to shove it.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Well they have aprox 1437 miles to go using the Fly J in OKC to Plainfield, NJ area. Going through Indy. on 465, the road cameras show it is clear for now. South on 70 in IN is supposed to be pretty getting more snow. Looks like IL roads are still ice or snow covered, so slow going there.
I use facebook pages a lot to to check on weather.

Sounds like a crappy company to begin with no taxes being taken out, no benefits tell the company to shove it I'm not driving its not safe what's the worse thing that could happen they fire him? From the looks of it he would only be bettering himself if they did.
