Good day to you all. I'm seeking advice on how to go about putting together a powerful c-16 for my project truck. I have read about fuel wires, marine cams, stage 5 turbos and all but don't know how to start all this. I'm building the truck ground up from scratch and sure could any advice you folks might be willing to give me. Thanks for your time.

How much power are you looking to put down?
-
seems most the threads I've read speak of about 800 hp. That would more than suffice. Guess I'm just looking a bit more than norm. Guess you might call it looking for bragging rights. And thanks for the reply.
-
Are you starting from scratch or do you have a C-16 to start with? May I suggest for bragging rights find an industrial C-18 and convert to truck engine spec.
-
I think 800hp is easy to get,I'm now looking to make it easier on the engine and suit our conditions.
If I was to do it again I would run with the 58 injectors my Garrett ball bearing turbo a ECM form DDS (on this site) a marine cam,FASS,coated manifold and looking at low compression pistons.
Should be looking around the 850hp BUT this is only my opinion. -
800hp is nothing to brag about

10R-0959 injectors
C18 1000hp cam
3406B model manifold
BW "mi stage 5 turbo"
Some hot ecm settings
fuel wire
and you have a 950-1000whp truck.Brickman Thanks this. -
Thanks folks for the replies. JAS, I'm starting from scratch so I would love to hear more about the c-18. I've heard about that twin turbo c-18 rated at 950 hp but no one at the cat place seems to know anything about it. How hard would it be to convert an industrial engine to truck specs?

550hpw900L, sure 800 hp is worth bragging about. Especially after drving 475hp company rigs, but I like you're line of thinking. I just didn't want to get too crazy with the hp as I'm wanting to set this truck up with a 3 pedal auto from eaton-fuller.

One more thing to all the folks who have or will respond to this tread. Once I have an idea of all the parts that I'll need, where do I find part numbers for all of it so I can start collecting the parts?
-
For starters, your best bet is to listen DDS, 550HPW900L, and 830HP C16, and other experts on this forum for advice. I have listened to 550 for advice on my friends 3406E and its been nothing short of good advice. Second, what kind of truck are you doing this on? It might helps us all to know your set up to determine strengths and weaknesses.
