Just to add to what jlkklj777 said, the 10-year requirement is federal:

Not sure, but you may need to provide a copy of your birth certificate to Prime or whoever you go with. I had to provide one in 1991 (born in 1946). The only way to get it was to write to the county hall of records. It took them a few weeks. I also had to provide a copy of my high school diploma. Wrote to my old school district and got that. Just sayin': allow lead times to get all the docs you'll need to ease the process. After that, it's a piece of cake. BOL.

Employers may want 10 years to validate history. FMCSA only requires potential employers to contact former employers involving driving jobs.

I think it's 10 years for all employment, 3 years for CDL jobs. Or 10 years of dental records. Or your weight at birth. Or how old you were when you lost your ... wallet the first time. :biggrin_2559:

Well, tomorrow I will be travelling to police stations to get accident reports because the employer does not want to help with this, but I figure this is my last bit of information I need for the application to Prime. Looking forward to leaving CT and starting a new experience.

Btw, I have been told that laminated Social Security cards are not considered valid and may not be accepted. :biggrin_2554:

....that's previous employer for when the accidents had happened...he doesn't want to look through his files...then again, his file system leaves alot to be desired (big stacks in corners, no file cabinets...)

have accident reports in hand, now I just have to figure out the best way to fill in at unemployment gaps ( no paperwork for unemployment benefits)....concerned about the dreaded hi-blood pressure problem...never had an issue before but suddenly when I need it to be good it shot right to the border line...tested today at 140/80. Been told by a friend that GNC has something to lower blood pressure and she will get me a couple bottles after the first...So I decided to wait till end of march to contact Prime, will try to get blood pressure down while I wait for my passport card. Btw, opinion! Should I take the test for doubles and triples before I get to Prime? Will they make me get it if I don't have it? Not really interested in doing doubles or triples...just wondering....

The more endorsements you have the better prepared you will be for any possible job offer. You will also be better qualified than other applicants that dont have as many endorsements.

The knowledge you gain from 1 sector may translate into another at a later date. Don't limit yourself.
