I am turning 21 this June. I can get my CDL training done by July from Western Dakota Tech.
I am going through Vocational Rehabilitation, so I am eligible for WOTC and OJT.

This is my question: I would love to join a company that is 100% non-touch freight.. However, if that is not possible - which have the 'least' runs where you unload your own cargo?.. Which, I would also have more than a snowball's chance of getting hired at?

I have a disability that would prevent me from doing it often..

Would I do well to get a tanker endorsement, for this?

    Thanks!

Wrist pain, from repetition (Lax Joints). Controlling the steering wheel / shifting won't be an issue, but lifting and moving an entire trailer's cargo will be.. or, atleast if I have to do it a lot.

    Afraid not, but thank you.

Any chance you can suggest companies to work for? :)

CRST is 99% no touch. You Should have no problems gettng hired there. As for other companies ask their recruiters and check out their websites.

Minimum age requirement: 25 years old or 23 years old with 2 years of verifiable OTR experience.

    .. :(

    Thanks, though...

Ask them the question directly. If you have hypermobility, all I can say is that I had a high school friend (helluva basketball player) that had this. And he went on to work for a van line company, then trained drivers, etc. This was a few (ok, alot) years ago, but it didn't slow him down.

    Baack Thanks this.

    Hey.
Why am I supposed to ask DOT about it?

I just want to find a company that has very little loading/unloading .. :)

I'm sorry, I thought you were concerned about it affecting your overall employability and your DOT medical qualifications. My bad, scroll on!
