I have my own authority and plates. I have a fleetone fuel card. I just dont have any coin if something was to happen. So do i just saddle up and hope nothing goes wrong in first month. My trailer though isnt in road worthy condition at present time.

Your not looking hard jobs are everywhere that pay that I get offeres all the time....if your happy making $52,k a year you just keep doing what your doing, I'd never own a truck and make that kind of money. Most O/O I know make low side $165,k a year and some make as much as $280,k a year.

Take this for what it's worth....yes I'd go back on the road but your going to need to run smart, start running for people with fast turn arounds on there money (Landstar, mercer,CHR,) I'd stay regional and not long haul do 500 mile turns where your home every other day run smarter not harder!

It sounds like the numbers that you are quoting are gross numbers. Owner operators can gross a lot of money. $4,000 a week sounds great. That's almost $200,000 per yr.

At $1.10/ mile, you are about breaking even. Gross means nothing.

    To the op:

If you can't use your trailer, maybe you can find some power only loads. If you hook up with one of the larger carriers, maybe you can find some shorter runs to keep you busy until the logging picks up. If you run under your own authority, you can come and go as you please.

It may not be the best pay, but it would probably keep you going and be relatively steady. If you can just get some cash put away, you'll be ok.

There are some places that if you lease on to them, they will help you if you break down with a loan. Hopefully, someone with more specific info can help you. I seem to recall Landstar being one of them.

I just grossed $8200 this week.. go OTR sir, lease on to a power only company, I get taken $225 for trailer weekly but I have availability to loads on flats, SD, RGN and stretch trailers..
This weeks gross is $700 over my avg which is regularly $7500.. I take home 3-4 thousand weekly after all is said and done.
There's really nothing else to discuss, you already know the answer to your own riddle. Good luck driver and dont go against yourself on this.
