At $1.10/ mile, you are about breaking even. Gross means nothing.
To the op:
If you can't use your trailer, maybe you can find some power only loads. If you hook up with one of the larger carriers, maybe you can find some shorter runs to keep you busy until the logging picks up. If you run under your own authority, you can come and go as you please.
It may not be the best pay, but it would probably keep you going and be relatively steady. If you can just get some cash put away, you'll be ok.
There are some places that if you lease on to them, they will help you if you break down with a loan. Hopefully, someone with more specific info can help you. I seem to recall Landstar being one of them.Davidlee Thanks this. -

I just grossed $8200 this week.. go OTR sir, lease on to a power only company, I get taken $225 for trailer weekly but I have availability to loads on flats, SD, RGN and stretch trailers..
This weeks gross is $700 over my avg which is regularly $7500.. I take home 3-4 thousand weekly after all is said and done.
There's really nothing else to discuss, you already know the answer to your own riddle. Good luck driver and dont go against yourself on this.281ric Thanks this. -
