My company doesn't have a terminal. I park on my own property. If I'm leaving, what are the circumstances on returning their truck? What can they legally enforce me to do? Thanks in advance.
Need advice

Where did you pick the truck up at? Legally, they cannot "enforce" you to do a thing. Most states have "At Will Employment", in other words you are at liberty to quit for whatever reason you want to and the company has the right to terminate you anytime they want to. But there is always a "kicker" , if you want to do the right thing, give the company a "notice of resignation" and ask where they would like for you to leave the truck. There are companies that appreciate this, but then there are those who will "screw you" when you put in your "notice". If you "abandoned" the truck, you are risking a big black mark on your employment record, but that is your decision. If after you put in your notice, the company starts "screwing with you", me, personally, would have no seconds thoughts on how or where I left the truck.
Longhaul. Thanks this. -
No Terminal? Do you work for a small time o/o? Less than 5 trucks??
i would place money on the fact that dac is not a worry. They aren’t big enough to be dealing with that mess. It’s up to you, return it to the bosses house or leave it at yours & tell him to come get it. It’s up to you to decide.
I would leave it somewhere secure so it doesn’t get stolen or trashed. If they’ve been good to you, call them up & ask. If they haven’t, call them up & tell them where the truck is. -
Grouch Thanks this.

Why do so many people have a problem with quitting a job? Just call up your boss and say, “Hey I’m quitting, what do you want me to do with the truck?”
Grouch, Concorde, lester and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I first got into the towing biz 50 yrs ago, when there were payphones on every corner and you could call the payphone, a new competitor's "office" was a payphone at a certain gas station ! !
