From what I have seen around here, the one thing I will say is take CRE off that list and forget they exist. Other than that, I'm sure some others will be in to give their opinions!

havent heard much about stevens or prime , but there is alot on here about swift. I am with swift now and have been with them for 5 months now, they treat me good take care of there equipment and havent had any problems with them yet. But choice is all yours just research em all and decide what one you want to go with.

My friends son drives for Swift. Very good equip as brink said and their safestat score is surprising. I think its a 68 but its better than CRE's 99, and Central 90 something.

I'm sorry but any company that uses a driver with only 6 months experience in a truck as a driver trainer shows me the company is only concerned in getting the load from point A to point B. This type of operation shows me the company has analyzed accidents vs load deliveries. It's cheaper for them to pay any cost for an accident then replace you as a driver. They can do that since there's a line of drivers waiting to work for them. They couldn't care any less for you as a driver. You're only there to fill that seat and you're easily replaceable. That's my 2¢

Racefan, Its just what you want Flatbed, Dry Van, or Reefer. I am like You new to this OTR thing. I am going with Prime. The Reefer side. Get some OTR for a year or so and the them home to Tyson,Perdue or even Smithfeild Foods. Its all what You want to haul. Kepp me posted on what You do. I am going to Prime the 19th of Jan. Good Luck in what ever You do..

racefan - your list is a list of "the usual suspects" when it comes to unhappy drivers.

one thing to look at is not the safety rating -

    but the TURNOVER rating.

The average lenghth of stay for a driver at CRE is about 5.5 months...

same with werner and only about 7 months with swift

    why?

that is the question - but obviously there is something "wrong" there.

    in contrast

as NoTarps said - have you looked at watkins shepard?

their average length of stay is over 1.3 years

(not great - but better for one reason or another)

I used to have a list of stats compiled from a survery done by over 800 recruiters.

had some interesting numbers to consider...

lemme dig and see if I can find that list:biggrin_25520:

Out of the four, your best bet is Stevens. Although, I would sugest that you stay clear of Reefer companys. So maybe Swift dry van would be beter. Either way you may have a bad experince.
Try to find a company that has a felxable and generous Home Time Policy. Chances are their more serious about geting you home.
