I wasn't aware that a new flavor was added to the jackknife category. We always referred to the condition of the trailer sliding sideways as "Trailer Drifting". How thing change.
Need advise. Another winter driving question.

It starts as a drift and ends up as a jack knife. I'm not going to waste my time on a semantics argument. If I got the terms wrong, it doesn't change the physics. Or the point of my post.

I see, I guess anytime you run out of hinge then it could be considered a jackknife.
Really didn't mean to be wasting you're time...Forgive me?Injun Thanks this. -
Well, I do have over 30 yrs in Canada 'cause that's where I'm from. Hauling everything you can think of over roads that include woods roads with 14-16% grades or steeper. And I ain't gonna tell you how to do it. Figure it out by yourself like I hadda do.
The ultimate answer? Move South like I did. What do I do when it snows here? Ignore it, anything under a foot don't count. -
WAKE UP LEROY!!!!!!! cuz he aint never seen a wreck like the one you are about to be in!!!!!!!
no, actually do what i did this morn when i hit a patch of ice...let off the accelerator...steer gently, lightly step back into it til trailer comes back in line...
