Need cb help

    I have a cobra 29lx with pt v mod kits which allows me to set the dead key the radio works flawlessly but on the volvos the antenna mounts on the mirror and I have a Wilson 5000 channel 1 and 40 are Reading 2.5 swr I tried lowering it and still same story do you guys think if Its the ground in the mirror should I run my own caux and mount it on my own mount?? Will it help thanks in Advance

    If it is high like that all the way across the band it is probably lack of a rf ground. Factory coax is usually not very good stuff, but unless it or the connectors are bad it shouldn't be the cause. Most new trucks have issues because of the lack of an rf ground. The answer lies in bonding. As in short ground straps (some use 8 gauge wire or coax) from antenna mount to door, door to body, body to frame. There are several good threads on here discussing this.
