Hi,
First let me say, I think it is so cool that there is forum where you can get so much support, you all get a standing ovation!!!
My husband, (Chris), and I are thinking about doing the trucker/team thing. I'm thinking to myself, "me driving an 18 wheeler, I won't even drive his extend cab truck. So am I even teachable to drive a big rig??" I watch Ice Road Tuckers and think if Lisa can do it, then why can't I?
Chis was hauling 5th wheels for a while but we hated being separated from each other. Since a couple years of his driving, we now have pondered the thought about us teaming up and hitting the road. So I'm coming to this forum asking for feedback from the prose!
We need info on the top companies that offer truck training upon hiring. And would he really need the schooling since he's pretty good at hauling? Could he just get by taking the test?
Also, the prose & cons of being on the road, what do U eat, where do you wash your clothes, brush your teeth in the morning, stuff like that. If we do decide to take this plunge, we'd like to have hauls on the East & West Coast, so what companies offers training and runs in those locations? So any feedback anyone can give us would be so greatly appreciate!!!
Thnx,
Carol
