Don't have to much exp. pulling hazmat need to know what HC routes there are going into Laredo from MO i44, 69, 75, 35. Is it just 635 around D. and 410 in San Anton? What about Austin and Laredo? Any other cities I have to go around? Also is there any place I can look up which roads have HC detours? Thanks in advance

Get yourself a rand mcnally motor carriers road atlas 2013. In the front it will have all hazmat routes oversize ,low clearance restrictions state by state. Every truck driver should have one $15 seen them as low as $10 @ all major truck stops and wally worlds

When carrying hazmat you must pay attention to the HC signs. They will have a white background with a green circle around the letters HC for hazardous cargo. You must follow the HC routing through or around a city. As posted above a rand mcnally atlas does have that info and a good trucker type GPS that has hazmat routing available should do the trick. Usually in Texas you will have to follow a loop around the city, as in san antonio, but its not always the case.

Your company should provide all that. You really have to look at your signs and plan 2 routes incase you see a no hazmat route. In Texas they want you to take loops around cites.Truckers atlas is a great tool to have.It has all the hazmat restrictions I think.I would suggest getting help from your company otherwise you could end paying a huge ticket.

if you don't work for a mega bottom feeder company , you don't get told how and where to drive. I'm the professional and am supposed to figure it out. all I'm told is go get it and deliver it. no appointment made by dispatch,(which is where most of them come from). most receivers have time windows or just first come first serve.

like he did ask questions. also get a hazmat book and LOOK in it.lol alot of drivers have one ,but never read it.

    Mommas_money_maker Thanks this.
