    Hello all,

My name is Levi. I recently decided that I want to become a Trucker.. So I have been looking for companies that sponsor training and that are ex offender friendly.. I have two felonies neither are drug, aggravated or sexually related.. I have never had a traffic violation nor DUI. One is from 2001 and the other 2004. Does anyone have any solid advice or know of any companies???

    Thank You

    John L. Price

Which you are about to find out are very limited....Felonies and no experience are going to be tough to overcome in the current economic environment.

Yeah I'm more than sure it will be hell... Quick question tho could I team drive with someone that had their own authority ? and If so what all would have to be covered on my end and theirs other than me obtaining my cdl?

That will all depend on whether you can find someone willing to take on training you and overlooking the criminal past.

It's a tall order to say the least!

Sorry , but that has been asked dozens of times here with no takers . If an O/O wanted to run team he'd already have somebody in the truck and it would be somebody he knew and trusted .
O.K. , Lavendar trucker is the one exception .

What is it about trucking that draws so many felons, parolees, ex-offenders, etc like moths to a flame?
It's that nobody else will hire these people except trucking companies.
    Why?
Because the turnover rates are so staggering in this biz even with the true US unemployment rate hovering around 20%.
You newbies would do well to take heed.
Many of these neer-do'-wells will be sleeping next to you one truck over in the truckstop...or all alone at a deserted rest area on some dark night.
Look at someone the wrong way and "diss" them...you may end up getting shanked with a sharpened screwdriver.

And to think this was once a respectable middle-class profession back in the day....what a shame!!!!!!!!

I am not sure that it's changed that much, in fact it has improved in many ways.
