I was recently working at Prime, and I had a problem with my sleep apnea, in that they were not able to treat my level of SA, acorrding to their sleep center provider. Let me be clear on this issue, I am NOT falling asleep at the wheel when I'm driving the truck. I use a CPAP machine daily, but according to them, my level of SA doesn't allow for me to be on the road again until I meet Prime's standard of an acceptable level of some type of SA number they're looking for.
So this brings me to my current situation; I have a CDL license obviously, but I only have about a little more than 6 months of OTR experience and a clean MVR. Where in the NYC area or NY in general, can I find another job with my level of experience?
    I need another job ASAP.

Stop. If you are using an "auto" CPAP and have a valid medical card there is NOTHING Prime can say. An auto CPAP will adjust you on a minute by minute basis. In fact the machines are so good you never need another sleep study. These companies that think they know a number is good is BS it's about compliance period. A great used auto machine is sub 500 dollars. PM me if you need more information.

Any suggestions on any good, local gigs in NY, specifically, the NYC area? Hopefully, Chinatown might pop up and have a suggestion.

The machine I have is fine so far, my problem is that Prime's sleep people tell me I'd probably need a different machine that runs around $6-8 THOUSAND!!
And even though I did pass my DOT physical recently, if I don't improve my sleep apnea numbers, (yes, they want my "numbers" to be under a certain level in order to drive again, no exceptions) I can't drive for them.

What are your numbers? When was your 1st and last sleep studies done? Are you using the cpap over 4 hrs daily? Did Prime attatch a modem and monitor your compliance remotely? Pardon the questions, but their are drivers trying to skirt the compliance guidelines.

By the way, Crete/Shaffer provides a sleep study completely on their dime. They'll charge you $900 for the new cpap machine but in stretched out payments. A fraction of the probing that Prime seems to be after. Pays solid at Crete/Shaffer also. They'd do orientation and sleep study in New Kingstown/Carlisle, if nothings changed since I went through it 2 yrs ago.
