I am new to this industry and screwed right off the bat. I was hired through PAM. They helped get me my cdl and was supposed to work for them for a year and gladley would have BUT after going through with the 4weeks otr with a trainer I freakin failed the road test and they sent me packin without a job. I guess I got a little to confident with my driving and felt like I got this far and I can't fail, but I did sadley. It kills me because I scored a perfect 100 through the dmv in Texas in order to get my cdl. But anyway this has seriously put me in a very bad situation. I did this to finally make a career and support my son now I can't even get a job. I've applied for swift, jb hunt, crst, schneider, and a few more local jobs and I keep getting the same response. First they ask me why I got my cdl in Texas when I live in jersey then I have to tell them the whole story ending with I failed the company road test. Then the conversation goes silent and they tell me they can't hire me. I need help in the worst way. I'm a good driver I swear lol. I just got a little to confident. This was for my son and now I'm screwed. I'm hoping some of you pros can help a rookie out and give me some advice PLEASE.....

The instructor said I coasted through 3 stop signs and made an unsafe right hand turn at a red light. And I passed a pedestrian on a bike and had to go around him and I didn't use my blinker :/.. But in my defense the trainer that I was with for four weeks would have said go for it you got it lol. Plus i was driving a 10 speed ever since I started this whole thing and the truck I used for the test was an automatic. I know it sounds like an excuse but it was a pretty big change up for me

So, I take it your trainer was relaxed with you and you expected the same from the instructor or you were nervous about the test.

Company sponsored training. They likely bused him to Fort Worth for C1 even though he lives in Jersey. Would have thought maybe going to Indianapolis, but if the class is full there, they probably sent him to the earliest available school with an open slot.

But why would TX have allowed them to test without proof of residency?
