I understand the frustration of not liking the people you work with, but are you seriously considering a 50%(or more) pay cut? If you think you don't get to see your family now how are you and your family going to cope with you being gone 2-4 weeks straight (at least sometimes more). I have not ever been to your job, but I'm willing to bet that there is a lot more A-holes in this industry. You might want to do a little more research, it sounds like your setting your self up for a big disappointment, and possibly financial disaster. All of the "wages" you have been quoted are very high end if not out right lies, I promise you in the real world 60-75% of what you were told would be more likely, and it will probably take you 3-4 weeks to work your way up to that. I'm not looking for a debate or argument just giving you the information I have learned in the last 30 yrs, so you can make an educated decision. If you can find a company that has its own trucks(private carrier) is the only way your going to get anywhere near the kind of money you are used to, and the waiting list for those jobs is long and endless.
