What would you do in my situation? I have been here for almost 2 yrs. And sorry for the grammer errors lol. Any help much appreciated.

Most of it depends on what you're looking for out of your career.

Remember that going with Maverick means you're going to be gone away from home at least 5 days a week, and for 2 weeks at a time in some divisions. So make sure that you and your family are okay with that right off the bat.

Second, you have to decide what you want to do. Flatbed pays very well here but it's very rough work, you're out in the 100 degree heat and -10 degree cold securing and tarping loads. If you go into glass, you have to be careful about how you drive and make sure everything is loaded properly. In glass you'll definitely be going into Canada. Finally, in TCD, you're not doing a lot of physical work but you're out for 2 weeks at a time minimum and you do A LOT of sitting and waiting.

By my calculations, if you work a 60 hour week you should be grossing about $1,295 per week. That's definitely possible to hit in flatbed if you run hard and get to tarp all your loads, and I'm pretty sure it is in glass too because their mileage rate is much higher, but it's hard to get that much in TCD because we do so much sitting that our miles are lower than the other divisions. Even with detention pay, if you went TCD you'd probably be taking a pay cut. I'm sure the flatbed and glass guys can weigh in here and tell you how often they hit that number or close to it.

But again, it all depends on what you want to do with your career. And you'd have to look at Maverick's hiring areas to be sure on what divisions you're eligible for, I'm pretty sure you're okay for TCD because I'm in Tulsa right now, and I know I've been to Atoka for a delivery or pickup sometime in the past.

I'll let the other guys weigh in for you on the pay rates and such, but we pretty much all agree that Maverick is a great company to work for, but you have to figure out if they're right for you personally.

Good luck in your choice, and we're here to answer any questions you have.

I agreee what Captain wrote. I'm in TCD, its a hit and miss with the waiting to get loaded/unloaded. What ever division you go into, Mav is the best company to work for. Your not just another #/driver going down the road.

Maverick is awesome, the drivers are absolutely the best group out there, and the staff is great too. I am partial to the skateboards, but you can't go wrong with any of the three options at Maverick.
