I am scheduled to train with Schneider down in Fontana next week. However apparently I have to share a room with someone for the 3 week training. I live in the NW. Not sure if I should look for a company that train up here in the NW (like Gordon Trucking) or continue on with Schneider. I hear many good things about Schneider but taking a greyhound all the way to Fontana and sharing a room with someone doesn't appeal to me very much. I am willing to do the training in the truck. Gordon is 4 weeks OTR no classroom unlike Schneider.
Any advice or suggestions?
Need help deciding.

many companies pair up people in a motel room. those that have one person to a room are rare.

I got news for you. You are going to share a truck smaller than your motel bathroom when you first start
Mr.X, Longarm, Lightside and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wait to you have to share a truck stop with a bunch of drivers that urinate everywhere but the toilet...or drop deuces behind their trailer....then you get to shower where they did.

I'm training with Schneider Bulk in Coraopolis, PA now. I'm sharing a room in a crappy hotel with a stranger. I'm treating it as a character-building opportunity!

Dont over think it. The other person is probly worried about you.

What in gods name do these fools teach for 3 WEEKS?
I have had less training hauling some seriously dangerous sht over the years.
I spent less time in truck driving school and I took the LONG version to make sure I learn as much as possible.
But for a company to have a 3 fuging week orientation is just retarded. -

Unless it's better to just do a full 4 weeks OTR and skip the rest? but I feel 8 days is plenty.Last edited: Jul 15, 2015
