i just graduated trucking school and have my cdl, i have applied for us xpress and werner and they both use hireright to check for driving background and hireright uses a full history report. is there any companies who just go back 3 years and dont use hireright?
because im having this problem i lived in delaware all my life and 3 years ago i got pulled over suspended in maryland with a delaware license, a couple months later i switched my de license to md, and i was late on paying the fines so maryland told delaware to suspend my license and i had no idea of this until now. it happened 3 years ago but it was suspended until i paid to get the suspension off the other day. do i have to wait 3 years to get with a company now? or is there some companys who only look at last 3 years and not full report or am i screwed or can i fight this in some way because i had no idea my old license was suspended. i would appreciate any advice and if you dont understand what i just wrote ill try to explain it better. complicated to much lol thanks

Everybody has different policies, you only applied to 2 companies, you're not going to find a job this way.If you're serious about driving trk then start applying to other companies, does'nt hurt to call either.

Well the old adage is honesty is the best policy. Just be up front with them it might not be a big deal but you where honest about it then they can't say that you lied on application.

Some companies will hire you. Do an online application and explain in detail the license suspension. Try these, but don't limit the applications to these.

I use an online service to check out new hire's, this guy just put in a app with me and I've got his report here on my desk, think I'll save it because it's the worse I've ever seen. In 5 years he has 27 charges from speeding, dui, driving under suspension, speeding 88 in 55, negligent operation, criminal domestic violence, possession of cocaine, possession of pot, accessory before the fact to a felony general provision (violent), two more possession of cocaine, breaking into motor vehicle, simple assault three times. Now here is the part I don't understand, WHY IS HE NOT IN JAIL? I counted 5 felony charges. this was not a driving job but due to freight I haul and some cross my dock I check everyone. No I did not hire him but I was real nice to him as I didn't want him to come back. The report was 14 pages long so the guy in MD had a small problem and I would have hired him.

I fail to see how DMV messed you up but to answer your question just be honest with them. When I went to work for schneider I told them straight up that my license was suspended for failing to pay a ticket and that I paid the fine and my license was reinstated. They had no problem with it. When I left schneider I did told my new company the same thing. They didn't care either.

You are going to have to go with a mom or pop carrier, stay away from the mega carriers they will not touch you with a suspension on your license no matter what reason

Once you are 3 years past the date of conviction you should be alright. Punishment phase is redundant. There might be some rejection but you'll find someone. Once you get that CDL it is your livelihood. You do anything and everything to keep it and keep it looking good.
