I am currently under contract with a company that I got my CDL through. I have hazmat, doubles/triples, and tanker endorsements with a automatic restriction. Is there a company that can buy my contract from my current company?

I will not name the company I am currently with, but for those that think Swift does not properly train their drivers, then my company is no different than a puppy mill for CDL. Only reason I went with my current company over the ones @Chinatown suggested, was because I thought I might be interested in leasing more than not having a automatic restriction. AB5 tapped me on the shoulder at the last minute

I contacted YRC Freight, but according to the person I spoke to, they cannot buy my contract from my company, and I cannot have any restrictions on my license, even though they can train me in a manual themselves. Shame. I did like their benefits, especially 100% company-paid health benefits. Not to mention the potential of $1,900+ a week working intrastate.

Someone posted a few months ago that Swift Refrigerated will pay off a contract. Don't know if that's reliable information or not.

Go to a credit union and ask for a loan to pay off the debt. Credit unions are easy to deal with.

I'm a Swifty and began at their Academy. I can't speak for other companies, but I was trained just fine at Swift. Of course I'm of the opinion and experience that if you want to learn something, not one can stop you. I wanted to learn and and put the responsibility on my shoulders about getting trained. In example, I wasn't 'officially' taught anything about how to move your 5th wheel. I looked it up on YouTube and watched a couple videos and learned how to do it. I was the one who wanted to be a truck driver, so it was on me to learn what needed to be learned, and I did!

    Unless your credit is toast
You could get a credit card and pay off the loan and use the sign on bonus to repay the credit card .

    ZVar Thanks this.
