To the OP...you really need to find out what your local ordinances actually say about truck parking or trucks on the route he's taking to get home. Pretty much all the advice above echos anything I would have said myself.

 

A lot of counties also have requirements that vehicles over a certain weight limit have to post a bond with the county. This is to cover any damages to the roadway which the commercial vehicle may cause. A local insurance company agent could answer any question as to that requirement.
