Slam your seat to the floor, roll your sleeves up and light up a Marlboro and hammer down :)

For some sick reason I enjoy running in the snow as long as I’m loaded heavy on my drives. My only fear is someone coming across the median and taking me out. Keep an extra eye out for the traffic running the opposite direction and have a plan of how to evade. 80BE5D02-C7B1-4EDA-85FD-2C01209E85AF.jpeg

Yesterday on I-25 & I-90 From Casper, WY to about 50 miles short of Billings, MT.

Picture was taken just north of Casper way before it got bad! By the time I got to Billings my truck was completely encrusted in a 1/2 inch of ice.

Too many inexperienced drivers running I-80 in Wyoming that’s why I avoid it at all costs.

Yup, the ones driving the governed trucks with it fully planted at all times. 62 mph is way too slow on pavement with 70 mph limit, but that 62 mph is way too fast any time the white stuff starts falling.

Over here in PA/WV/OH, the operator pretty much calls the shots. The frac company also doesn’t take chances, especially Halliburton. I was recently stuck on a main road and the Halliburton truck coordinator stopped by. He actually made the decision and not the operator. They will shutdown if the roads are bad, lease roads or main roads. We don’t get the option to keep going like years ago.

Don't let them tell you what to do. If I broke traction, the fun stopped right there. You, in the drivers seat, make that call, not some bozo in an office somewhere. Remember, it's your axx on the line, not theirs.

I just realized you are in ND. It’s a different animal out there. If they shut down for weather they would have to take the entire winter off lol. I assume. Only been there once.

Chain up when necessary. Drive slow. You should reach a point when you know what you can do. Luckily you have experience out there.
