Please provide any knowledge of companies that would give a chance to an ex oilfield driver (frac then cement). As any one with oilfield experience can tell you we worked horrible hours then drove long distances and repeated. During a 3 week period in Sept 2013 I had two preventables. A mailbox at a rig site and put my bulk trailer rear tire in a ditch requiring a wrecker to hoist out. Then in March 2013 I backed into another truck at a fuel stop. Minor damage, officer said it would be an incident rather than accident therefore not going to DPS. A perfect mvr before all this. I was terminated but told would be eligible for rehire. Does anybody think I could still get hired on at otr company. No cdl school other than company then one week at a driving school.
Need help getting hired, have cdl but have dac report

Pull yourDAC, and MVR and see what it shows? then start apps.

MVR is blank. No tickets or accidents. I'm 53 yes old and my record is perfect. Worried about dac though. I have requested a copy of report but haven't recited it yet.

I've read on here that some of the better companies don't bother with DACs, if your MVR is perfect then you probably already have the upper hand on a lot of people. Have you applied anywhere yet?
Once you get a copy of your DAC (if you want to play it safe and wait until seeing it before you start applying) you can probably safely omit anything that it doesn't say. If your company said you were eligible for rehire they might not have even mentioned the accidents, I've also read on here that some companies will just put "contract cancelled" or similar if your performance was otherwise good. -
I haven't applied anywhere for otr, just a rock hauler that was a competitor of my previous employer. Was looking for some of the "better" companies. I'm out of Oklahoma City.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Hey, if they didn't so a hire rite background check when you started it's likely they don't use DAC and didn't submit anything to them. Your MVR is good. Just apply and see what people say, and request a copy of your DAC.

Most companies may call for a reference; what will the company report?
You will need a refresher course anyway because you've been driving locally.
Many OTR companies offer refresher. Get that behind you & then you can do OK. Probably can't be too picky right now due to the incidents.

Your DAC report literally means nothing to any decent company. If a company uses it they are most likely just another trash steering wheel holder Mega carrier. You've paid your dues now go get a real job. Check your MVR and if it's clean your good to go. I honestly will not even talk with a company that uses DAC or any comparable service. They are unworthy scum IMO. If you think I'm being too harsh on them go over to the bad trucking companies and read what they do to good folks on a regular basis.

Not all companies that use DAC are bad companies. We use DAC as one method to check a driver's employment background (as DAC was originally intended to be used) BUT we also talk to the driver and take EVERYTHING into consideration. DAC itself is not bad, the way it is used by some carriers is.
Yes, OP probably will need a refresher due to being a local driver if he opts for a regional or OTR position. Not because he can't drive OTR but due to insurance requirements written by people who do not understand the additional stress of local positions or the additional skill set required.snatale42 Thanks this. -
