I have not started school yet really trying to get good info on it until I make my mind up on if it is what i really want to do. I need to know the good and bad of this job. If some of you could post stuff for me to look at. I live in Chattanooga Tn and I was hoping to find local routes but if not dont care to travel but wanna be home on weekend. Also need to know how I go about going to school. And how much it cost. My goal is to drive for few years and then own my own truck and maybe some day owning my own company. I know that is a big goal but we can strive for the best. please help with any info:biggrin_25514:

Duane, have you begun training yet? I will assume the answer is 'NO'. Be sure to get a grant or go cheap on the training. Do NOT pay more than about a grand for training if you have to pay for it yourself. It's too risky to pay anymore than that. You've never done it before, so you don't know if you'll like it. Besides, the economy is slowing down and demand for things trucks carry is dropping. People are paying out of the nose to fill their gas tanks, and this is having a psychological effect. Consumers are not consuming as much today, and you can tell that's the case if you look in the truckstops and read testimonies here.

Go cheap or go FREE on training. Pell Grants are a good way to go. Keep your wallet in your pocket.
