i knew a guy that drove at us express and he drove automatics. come to think of it he was probably the dumbest and slowest guy i ever encountered. he actually crashed 2 trucks in a week where i work. one of them was out of commission for almost a month being fixed, the other nothing happened to it, he caught the side of a pepsi truck. real good driver lol.

I'm sure USX is a good starter company and great for new teams from what I understand. Its just mastering that shifting, understand RMS Ratio to road speed, listening to the engine and feeling it is a skill once mastered will be very vaulable. I had codriver for a year, that was such a rough shifter he would jerk me right of the bunk. He came from an auto only company, and I worked with him for almost 3 months before I just gave up and let him do it his way. The main reason the team broke up. When your team driving you need to learn how to make soft corners, not jerk and rev the crap out of the truck. When I would drive solo my mileage was 7.25 a gal, when we drove as a team it was 5.5 and we got rode all the time by the company. He would wind it out in all the low gears, and alway miss the 4th-6th gear up shift and jam and wiggle back in to 5th, not realizing it was in high range.....made me sick.
