You don't fly into Detroit, the airport is 20 miles from Detroit.

I bobtailed three trucks home, KS to Detroit, FL to Detroit and AZ to Detroit with only truck title and bill of sale. Only got stopped once at Oklahoma weigh station. Showed him the bill of sale and that's it.
When I had an Ifta audit, inspector did not care about those miles, since truck was not working pulling freight.

Same. That and proof of insurance, roll. 2 different trucks and 2 trips. Never bothered. I didn't pull in to the weigh stations

The only scale I encountered was Cali into Arizona and it was closed. The Arizona/NM one I ran through the woods down into Datil/Quemado area. Nothing in Texas to worry about.

You're gonna love that extra 150hp +400 more TQ. After we rebuilt the 93 and went with bigger injectors and turbo it was a whole new beast. Like what @TripleSix said be very gentle on the low side.

It’s not a commercial vehicle until you license it as such. My FLD came from WV, my W900 was in PA, and my first 579 came from Missoula. I drove all three back to South Dakota with no permits and nothing on the truck. If it were me I’d just avoid the scales, especially NM.
