I'm coming up on 6 months of OTR experience, I'm liking my company but I'm having to stay out on the road for 2-4 weeks. My fiance is getting tired of me being gone so long! I live near greensboro, nc & wondering if there are any good local or regional companies in that area were I can get home daily or weekly! That wpull accept 6 months of experience.

Not sure. JB Hunt maybe? If you hold on for the first year more doors will open for you as far as experience goes. I dont know if there is a Central Transport around there but they will hire local with 3 months experience. But Centrals equipment is complete junk I wouldn't want to be driving those heaps

Nothing worst than driving "an accident waiting to happen." Guess who gets left holding an empty sack or even jail time.

There used to be a company there in Greensboro, I think exit 120 (but it is the Groomstown rd exit??), they were known as Celadon, not sure if they are still there. they did have local and OTR drivers.

Are you with a mega ? Most of them have local gigs. They generally don't always advertise it. Speak with someone at your current employer on what local dedicated accounts they have available. I don't mean Dollar General, Family Dollar, Etc. :angel8:

Try Epes Transport. I don't know what kind of experience they require and I've never worked for them, but they are out of NC and claim to get their drivers home weekly. It's worth further inquiry.

Btw, you may not want to hear this, but if your fiancé is giving you ultimatums about your job, your cars or motorcycles...whatever, don't get married, because the relationship is going to end badly. You may not think so, but it will...whether you go local or not. Either they're in 100% or they're out.

I have heard the same with Cargo Transportes getting people home about every 7 - 10 days after training is done.
