had a similar experience a long time ago. quit and as I walked out the door,I told the boss that I had documented the last few months of forced illegal driving and if he screwed with my DAC or anything I would take it to the DOT.
Quality Carriers the company he was leased to sent me a " post employment interview" form to fill out. Yeah, I know , what the heck is that ??????? well I told them the whole story and the previous employer lost his contract . poor baby. he still had trucks just not a good contract.
oh and he put a ding on my DAC, said I had an accident with severe damage to truck. I pulled my DMV report and had my car ins. company pull one also. none found. proof of false statement for next employer. have had no problem. DAC is a corrupt company. privatly owned and anybody can say they are a co. and put crap on there. not regulated at all.

Oh and the point,? it's your licsense , protect it at all costs.

Start looking into other trucking companies. A good majority of them will take you on with 3-6 months of otr. If i read your post right you have just about the 3 months. Don't abandon the truck. Bring it back to this A-hole, tell him to stow it, stuff it, get F..ed, what ever works. Its not worth your health or your sanity.
Theres a thread on this site that links out to several companies that will take you on right away. Do your homework on them and choose what works best for you.
I wish you luck and pray you'll get out of this.

Report them to DOT with evidence. Don't fudge your logs whatever you do! That only hurts you. Then leave and go find a better company to work for.

Wow! How does anybody make a grown may with a wife and kids do anything that they don't want to do? .... I am sorry but dude grow a sack... first a company with 12 trucks is not going to report anything to your DAC, second keep your paycheck stubs and you can turn that in to a company as far as proof of employment if they try to jack you around come verification time, quit acting like a girl scout and take your career back, you can find a job with all these companies out here...admit it you like driving the brand new truck with the nice shiny wheels.

P.S. As soon as you get caught with the log violations nobody wants to hear "they made me do it" it goes on your record not the company

I did apply with Schneider. Recruiter said I was a good as hired. They ran a hire right report on me and said because I had a DUI in 1993 they couldnt and then said they dont really hire from the west coast of Florida.

I was in the Schneider section of here, excited to become part of the 'Pumpkin Patch'. Never materialized.

The only thing really holding me back is my lack of recent experience. I want so badly to make 9 more months here so I have 1 yr under my belt. Just dont think I can make it. Not physically and not mentally. I'm already breaking down and find myself balling in tears every time I get off the phone with my wife.

I have put in some online applications today. I am sitting here at a truck stop since this morning. My load should be ready any moment now. This is the longest I have sat in one place while not on a 34. At least while driving I focus on the road and it takes my mind off everything. I am honestly happiest while the wheels are moving. Sitting at places like this doing nothing gets me thinking about how miserable my situation is and how much I miss my family.

You're tone has changed, now you're talking about "balling tears" and how much "you miss your family", maybe this guy just KIND OF SUCKS to work for but you're making it worse than it is because of the homesickness? I don't know, when I was younger and tried the OTR gig I dealt with the same highs and lows of missing my wife and my hometown and I tried to justify my anger by bashing the company I was with, not saying this pertains to your situation but maybe your emotions with being separated from your family are getting the best of you at the moment?

Either way, good luck. Atleast you can take some satisfaction in your job when you park for the night and step out of what sounds like a pretty bad arse ride, take that thing back to Florida and look slick doing it. Stay positive......

Thats exactly what I am afraid of. I should be able to say no,.. I wish it were that easy. The first time I got an over weight load I tried to say no. He said for me to take things out of the truck so he could fly out and rescue his truck. I swallowed my pride and did as I was told and took the load where I was told.

O.O.I.D.A....... just in legality questions alone they have been worth their weight in gold to hubby. $35 a year, $500 lifetime membership. and hubby is a company driver, so you dont have to be o/o to be a member. and its a partial tax deduction!
