    hey guys, I have a small lighting issue with a friend of mines truck. I told him id take a look.

    let me explain the problem.

    when the left turn signal is engaged the front left and rear left signal turn on, but so does the right rear.

    im suspecting a ground problem, any help, advice, diagrams, manual pages etc would help.

    ps, im new to this forum if I did not post this in the correct place please let me know.

    thanks

    A couple questions...

    Does both indicator lights flash on the instrument panel or just the left?

    What happens when you turn the right signal on?

    on the instrument panel the display works like its supposed to. all correct lights

    when the right turn signal is engaged the signals work as they should. it is only when left is engaged that the right blinker flashes also.

    it might be worth mentioning that I replaced the flasher switch to handle the lights on the trailer as well as the truck. but problem persists with either module.

    I'm showing besides the flasher there is a turn signal relay for each side. There should be a relay panel under the hood. The only way both relays could be activated is if there was a short in the multifunction turn signal switch. If two wires were exposed and touching each other lets say under the chassis somewhere when you put the right signal on the left would flash. So it has to be before the relays. If you can unplug the multi-switch pin 1 and pin 3 are the turn signals. Put the left on and ohm across them two pins to see if you have a short.

    Or you can leave it plugged in and back probe for 12V. It should be one or the other but not both with the left turn signal on.The switch has little copper contacts in it and one of the contacts could of broke and is resting across the left and right side is what I'm thinking.

    If not let me know if you find the relays and we can remove them and do some ohm checks.

    as condo says you most likely have 2 wires touching or a plug corroded and power crossing over

    yes it does, I purposely unhitched and unplugged the trailer to get the lights on the truck sorted out first before worrying about the trailer lights.
