Cobra 29 lx max freezes up, won't turn off

    I have a cobra 29 lx max it works fine for 10 to 20min after that it freezes up or something to that effect and won't turn off even though the power nob is in the off position....can anyone tell me where to start ?

    I believe this is a common problem with the 29 max radios. The CPU chip is bad. The chip can be replaced (but its not easy), so it could be expensive to get it fixed. I have no idea how much a tech would charge.
