Good evening everyone let me tell you a little about myself and situation.. I got my cdl thru a major trucking company and doesn't require you to sign a lease just the loan you are require to pay back... So I did my 4 weeks with a mentor then went solo for a month back in march of 2015 ...during my mentoring we were in a Costco distribution center picking up a loaded trailer ..at the time we were about to leave the place there was a few people who I assume work for Costco outside testing this new trailer snow removal machine ..they ask me if I could drive thru it to test it out nt to idle when going thru it and once we were half way thru it to give it some gas about 10 miles per hour.. So eventually I did what they told us once we went thru it and pass it with no issues ..so we then went further up where they have a weight scale to weigh our load and notice some other people driving in a swift pickup truck telling us we had to call claims department cause supposedly I broke their machine ...at this point I was worry we went back took pictures didn't see anything wrong with it look the same before we went thru it ..my mentor told me not to worry that it will be on him cause he was my trainer ..so I did just that didn't worry about it until after one month being solo my DM calls me after my first day back from home time talking me if I had a chance to speak with her that new drivers are require to have a monthly review to go over my status with them...that's when she told me about the incident I had when I was with my mentor that it was on my record ..so I assume my DAC?? Well during this the time of being with my mentor and being solo I wasn't once contacted by anyone from claims or the company regarding the incident that's when I was so upset more like piss and ended my time with them ..oh BTW there was more issues with the company but that was the final draw for me...so my question is are there any other companies out there that will take me with that being on my record and haven't been in a truck since March of this past year?? PS I have been working local for a small delivery company not requiring my cdl ...any advice will be appreciate thanks and sorry for the long story

words of wisdom from 25 years out there ,never tell anyone what your load is over the cb.make up some thing, tampons ,canned orka, fish guts, ect. listen to your gut ,if the traffic looks weird ahead or where your at on the big road slow down a little until the gut feeling passes. google earth your route so you can recognize where your going, back in the day we had maps and $10 rolls of quarters for the phone.

I have 1 question...did you drive for Swift? If the answer is "No" I would have told the Swift people to Goeth Intercourse Thyselves.
But as it stands, I get the suspicion that your "mentor" threw you under the bus. Even so, if there was an issue, Safety should have contacted you. That being said, it's not going to hurt you with any meaningful employment.Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -

Here's what happened with the snow removal machine; it was already damaged and the people operating it didn't want to take responsibility so they used you. This is common in trucking. We had a customer that made around $1000.00 weekly by calling trucking companies and saying the driver damaged his roof by backing into it. Another made about $700.00 several times a week by blaming trucking companies for landscaping damage. Other truckers will say you backed into them at truck stops when in fact their truck was already damaged and they're looking for some easy cash or to cover the fact they damaged their own truck.
