I think you're probably right about that. I have always been on the same basic schedule.

I was just joking about the consulting a dietician though.

You find good bagels where there are any significant Jewish populations, so that limits things considerably.

I am from suburban NYC so I am spoiled as far as bagels go. And good rolls. Delicatessen sandwiches. Southern biscuits are good for breakfast sandwiches but nothing beats a good NY deli roll with poppyseeds. The breakfast sausage in NC is better than I am used to though, I'll admit that.

Boar's Head Pastrami, eggs and swiss.:biggrin_255:

Don't get me started on the lack of good pizza and chinese food lol.:biggrin_25523:

I do a lot of sandwiches myself, and you know what made them more easy to face for me?

Lettuce. Just the crunch of some good lettuce made the difference. I'll also try different dressings (lite mayo with olive oil, Miracle Whip...even BBQ sauce...little changes).

simplyred's idea of a crockpot can save you lots of money and cooking time. you can pick one up at kmart or walmart for # $30.

put frozen mini meatballs with a pint jar of sauce on low while you sleep. it'll be done when you wake up. i doctor the jar sauce with garlic powder, parsley, and thyme.

now this one might sound gross, but let me tell you it's delicious!

mix a can of chunky cranberry sauce with a package of lipton onion soup mix in the crockpot. put in a beef brisket, fat side up, folding under one end if you have to. on low for 8 to 10 hours. makes a great gravy. this you can take to microwave or slice for sandwiches.

slice up 2 onions and a red or green pepper, place in the bottom of the crockpot. layer on 2 frozen italian sausages. 8 hours later it will be done. there will be a lot of juice at the bottom, use a slotted spoon to drain them.

cut a couple hot italian sausages (if you like them spicy) into bite size chunks. saute in a frying pan till brown and cooked through. then add in # 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar. cook it until the vinegar has reduced in volume and becomes a sticky sauce all over the sausage bites.

Update: Ok, this mcdumpster's hit ain't working. So i am going to get serious, formulate a plan, implement it and will report back later.

Plus, i just watched Super Size me. And i recommend everyone to watch it.

    2) That's actually a good suggestion, but i don't have time for that. However, if anyone would like to do in-depth research regarding nutrition and report back here, i would greatly appreciate it.

You can find drink powder sticks for iced tea or energy drinks in the same part of the grocery store as powdered kool-aid. I always keep a 20 oz water bottle handy and these packets are just the right size for making a quick drink that doesn't cost a lot---just pour the packet and shake. Anyone know where I can find powder sticks that don't have artificial sweeteners?

note: I keep a 1 gallon screw top water jug handy which I periodically refill with tap water from rest areas.

    Powell-Peralta Thanks this.

Rice-A-Roni Broccoli Au Gratin rice with baked boneless skinless chicken breast diced up and cooked in while the rice is still cooking. Baking the chicken before cutting with garlic and onion (fresh or dehydrated). #### good eattin' and healty and still tastes good even being reheated in the microwave. Put in a bowl and carry a plastic spoon and your set. Maybe even a slice or two of a whole grain bread.

I've even made this in the truck while on the road with a George Forman grill to cook the chicken electric skillet even carried a small cutting board. Easy clean up and plenty for leftovers to put in the fridge.
