ROLL TIDE brother!!! Nice picture, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get all new lines and fix it up right when I do it, I really wanna use the air line I already got in the cab for the 5th wheel but to keep it hidden I might should use the electric method, will the solenoid I have work, its originally used for a fan clutch and I'm not sure how fast it'll dump off.

I'm not sure how well that will work. Most trailer dealers will have a "dump valve" in stock and they are not very expensive. I look at it this way, if you are going to do it, do it right the 1st time. You are already going to re-plumb the hoses so why not just get the right part and go with new as well..... granted the fan clutch valve might work, I have no idea how fast it will allow the bags to dump.

Also to answer that legal question...NO that other line has never been an issue thru several annual DOT inspections. YES the officers sometimes ask what that extra line does, but once I tell them what it does, and why it's there, that's the end of it.

It is not illegal to have a dump valve on a trailer, most manufactures install them from the factory even. Also, I have never seen or heard of anyone getting a ticket for dumping the axle to make a turn. 99% of all turns you make while driving down the road will never require you to dump the bags anyways. it is mainly to assist in backing manuvers and help keep the tires from binding and "flat-spotting". And to be honest, I don;t think the bags would drop fast enough for someone to notice OR for it to help with a regular 90* intersection turn. So it's kind of pointless to use it for that.

Great Amercan over here in GA has the rapid dump for about $35, the fan solenoid won't work cause it won't blow it off fast enough. But ill have it right by this weekend, it would be done already if it wasnt for the holiday and the #### rain.

They do drop quick, & absolutely do help with regular 90 deg. turns! I use it alot and wouldn't have a spread-axle without one. JMO

I use it for 45 degree turns, 90 degree turns, 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, even use it for the rare occassion when I turn over.

I'm on the road this week. Might be home Friday. Hubby is putting up flyers for his Rent-A-Bay at the Kangaroo. You can find out from him, if I am in.
