I don't think that is bad, but wouldn't you make more money to stay out 2 weeks then take 2 days off? if i could work 3 weeks and get 7 off that would be fine with me too as long as i was making enough during the 3 weeks to support having off the fourth?
Do you do real well that way? if so i could handle that. -
The key is dedicated trailers , most preloaded , less than 2 hours to unload , some just drop the loaded trailer and head home with an empty one . Leave the 3 or 4 week out stuff to the newbies . Check tank carriers . Most are staying real busy . November and December were my busiest months . -
Hell, tanks can easily get you that kind of money and home every day. Plus 2 days a week off. That's what I get right now.

Go with Marten. I live in AL and run just what you said. 14 out and 2 off. Some times I do 15-17 and take 3 off but thats my choose. I take home after tax's $650 every week. I run OTR on the eastern half. If you go west they don't guaranty you will be back by the end of two weeks. That depends on freight. But if you stay on the eastern half you will have no problem running 14 and then home. I'm on my way home now.
Here is what I did the last two weeks.
bt=bob tail, d/h=deadhead, del=delivered, p/u=pick up, reld=re-loaded, ld=loaded
Started in AL, BT to Atl p/u to VA. del/reld to Harrisburg PA. del d/h to Camden NJ (waited 10 hrs for Del Monte to get ther $#!% together) to Canton MA, D/H to east CT p/u to Forest City IA D/H to Mason City IA ld (waited for blizzard to pass by and road to re-open) to Little Rock, Switched ld in Joplin, D/H to Ft Smith p/u to Chicago del/reld to Montgomery. Ld has 2 days to much time. Will spend that at the house. Never set any where waiting for the next pre-plan. Knew before I got to other end what was next. Only time I set was waiting on customers and for the weather. Total miles 4800 in 12 days.
After I deliver on Monday I'll do it again. -
