I am not sure if there are big changes going on at TNI right now or if I was just projecting because they fired my beloved driver manager, so you might try to speak with a current driver or two. There are always a few at the terminals.
Bottom line: I loved TNI. The pay was a little low and slip seating to go home was a pain, but the payoff was solid lanes laredo to midwest and back, unlimited hometime, good, strong, well maintained volvos limited at 70. No micromanagement. Real respect for drivers, and almost without exception, everyone was happy there.Nsterns Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply! I live in the Corpus area so I will probably be working out of the valley. I was wondering if you can safely park your personal vehicle in a secure area? I read your thread, I really like the home time and I don't think I would mind the slip seating. How was the hiring process and is there anything you can add that would make it smooth?

Orientation at laredo was very laid back. Quick 2 days. The usual. Drug test. Paperwork. Safety videos. Quick road trip. All the info you need to succeed at TNI. Fast food lunch. No surprises. Get a truck, start making money.

Keep us posted on what you find out. The website says there was a recent pay increase and claims $90-100k average. Sounds like they have a fair amount of drop and hook freight and they always have pretty new equipment as far as i can tell and i love the hometime policy as i travel pretty light and don’t care about slip-seating as long as i don’t get stuck with a lemon. Sounds like a pretty good deal if the miles are really there
