you have a laptop that doesn't have a wireless receiver?
How old is that thing? -

Look into getting the service through Verizon or US Cellular. You get the modem and the service. $60 a month, and it has a good coverage area on the 5GB package. Just got hubby set up through US Cell (we have our phones through them). He's finally getting to test it out for real, as he finally got out of the midwest! A friend of ours has been using Verizon for a couple of years, and really likes them.

If you must use a wifi adapter try and get one with an Atheros chip , they are far better at picking up singnal in most cases..

I have an android phone on Verizon. I downloaded and bought a $9.95 program called EasyTether. This is a one time fee. I plug my phone into my laptop via the USB cable and I have 3g internet just about everywhere. Verizon does not know I am using my laptop, not my phone to browse the internet.

Yeah well just hope they dont track it down ! lol
The end result from using a tethered phone will suprise you !
If you are gonna do anykind of tethering you need to get a Data plan !
just an opinion !

EDIT Oh Craig i see it looks like you do have data plan ,most wont bother you that way, since you are paying for data they dont seem to care how your using it anymore.Last edited: Apr 10, 2011
