Last Wed going SB on I 75 MM 344 there is a scale in GA upon coming up to it 2 trucks stopped in the middle of the interstate making me lock up my brakes. I was able to keep from hitting truck in front of me, however a daycab flatbed which was MT rammed me at approx 30-35 mph which whippedmy neck and body forward leaving me in severe pain and a bruise onmy left chest where the shoulder belt grabbed.

This accident could have been avoided if the scale master was paying attention and turned the closed sign ON due to the ramp being backed up. Please forward info on a lawyer. I am from Ft. Worth, the company that hit me is from TN and the incident happened in GA.

    Thanks for any help.

I do know a trucker lawyer from MN and hes real good.He does handle cases all over. His last case was in Alabama but don't know if his clients have to be in MN or the surrounding states. If you want his number let me know.Sure it could have been avoided is the DOT turned his close sign on but also if trks move to the shoulder.Without solid proof it may be a tough case to win.I'm not blaming you what so ever but make this a lesson learned to look far ahead at all times and have time to slow down safely then your brks would'nt have locked up How fast was you traveling?

I was at Dunsmuir, CA scale house exit last week. Same thing, there was a line protuding all the way out onto the interstate. Even though I am not equipped with Prepass for California, after slowing down, there was no way I was going to stop in the middle of the hi-way before the exit. I kept right on going.

When I read the topic I knew that was the location. They usually don't light up the closed sign until all three lanes are crawling for miles. Sorry to hear of the injury, on the bright side it could have been much worse. Hope the FB driver up in your tail fared as well, regardless of fault.

a lot of truckers dont give enough distance, i have trucks that are right on my ### all the time or I will see a truck riding the bumper of a car in front of them because they are so impatient, if that car had to brake that truck cant brake as fast.
Another thing that irritates me are the trucks who pass you and then get over within inches in front of you, I pass a truck and give almost a truck distance before I even merge back over.

And that ramp to that scale is about 1/2 mile long, yet for some reason, drivers don't see the sign "WEIGH STATION 1 MILE AHEAD" and can't get in the lane they need to be in till the last second.
