I live right off I-5 in southern Oregon. I work for Swift now, but I've about had it. I'm looking for someplace that can reliably get me home at least weekly. Pay is not a huge factor - I make .29cpm now, so it's not like I'm eating lobster for breakfast as it is.
I'll have 6 months OTR experience this month. I have 1 moving violation (not speeding), 1 overweight ticket, and one servfail (which is fairly bogus, but it's there anyway). Is there any hope for me?

You're in a good area. Market Transport, Stidham, NPE, System, J&M are some that come to mind. Head to Rice Hill Pilot and see what trucks roll through there and talk to drivers.
TruckersWife78 and SkiddyFisk Thank this. -
try A&M trans in Glendale Oregon. Talk to Hank, tell him Skip told you to call. worked there for 4 yrs. Family owned outfit, older well maintained trucks, home most weekends and start # about .34

My J&M should have been A&M. Not only can I not type but I can't read either. The few drivers I've talked to with them seem contented.

A&M is on my visit list next hometime. I'd heard they might not get me in a truck until after new year's though. Friend of mine used to work there (name is Jerry Sharpe if you knew him) and he said it was a good outfit but freight slowed down during the winter.

No answer for you but I saw your post and my husband is having the same problem (home every 6 weeks or so). We are also off of I-5 in Glendale so I'll definitely be watching this post for replies.

worked there 4 years, good outfit. Family owned, you can walk in and talk to the owner any time you want, pardon me , might be out playing on a d-8 back in the back end inproving the parking lot. Swift just Wishes they had the parking that A.M. does. but then they have people that CAN park. give them a call, can't find the number? be glad to give it to you. just ask.

Already went in and chatted with hank at the office there - I'm basically on the "keep calling till we've got an opening" list right now. Just hope it's sooner than later.

If you want more hometime go to work for micky d's or burger king in truck driving you will not get home weekly at any company that I have heard of.
Unless you live on one of the major freight lanes that you go up and down alot and go past your house.
My trainer when we would run id,wa,oregon to utah and back he had time to slip into his house sometimes. -
I do, actually.
