    Hi,
I had a breakdown, and I need my semi tractor hauled home, can I post to a load board directly as a shipper? Or do I need to go through a broker?

I'd prefer not to pad any brokers pockets.

    Lol

If you have an account with DAT or Truck Stop you can post loads. There’s no need to go through a broker. Just make sure you verify that the carrier you’re using has insurance, operating authority. If you plan on filing this on your taxes you’ll need to get a copy of the carriers W9. With equipment moves like this you’ll be paying cash/check on delivery? If so make sure to put that in the comments section on your posting to attract good carriers. Good luck to you.

contact a truck moving company, like truck movers, and have them move it for you.

Post it on Truck Stop or DAT. You’re going to need someone with an RGN trailer. If it doesn’t run you need a wrecker company to meet you when the truck is there to winch it onto the RGN for you.

    Soltaker Thanks this.

No good answers in this situation but might be cheapest to fix it where it is. What's wrong with the truck?

Perhaps if we knew what type of truck it was, those of us with an RGN can better answer the OP's question.

But no you cant just post it to DAT or Truckstop
