Read up on this forum and you will find all sorts of answers. One man's perfect company is another's evil pit. There is no one size fits all. But you will discover that there are some to avoid.

Schnieder might work well for you. I have a friend who went through their training in March and its working okay for her. BOL

Where you live at that company may take you I know they were training people there last November but I don't know about now. Stay away from the 16,000 truck companies kid they will chew you up and use you up then dump you. If you got to start out with one of them then do Schieder cause they are the lesser of the evils.

I Have Heard Pretty Much The Same Stories From Everybody About Which Company To Get Your Training From If I Were You I Would Probably Go With Schneider I Actually Heard They Werent As Bad As Swift And Cr England But To Be Honest With You There All Going To Bs You To Death Because They Have U By The Balls So Be Prepared For That Where Ever You Go If I Were You I Would Try To Do It On My Own This Way You Have No Contract To Fullfill, It In The End Comes Out To Be The Same If You Financed Through A School Anyway But You Have The Choice Where To Go And Work And Not Be At There Mercy With 4,000 Over Your Head!!!!!!!!

My wife and I took our training from CFI. You pay $1000 plus room and board they pay the rest. Haul 1 load for them and your debt is repaid. We attended Central Tech in Drumright OK which proved to be a great school based on our success versus some of the other students we met at orientation. CFI is a good company, just got bought out by Con-Way, don't know what will happen with the new company. Good luck.

That CFI deal sounds good, assuming you don't have to pay ten grand for room and board. If it's less than about 500, that would be a great deal. As far as the company goes....well....you'd better do your homework. Sounds to me it will be in CFI's interest to treat you right if you have the choice of being able to walk away after your first run is completed. Not many companies will do this. Maybe for this reason CFI would be worth it. Again, check into them.
I'll third the opinion that Watkins is a good place to get trained.
I'd avoid the indentured servitude route. Some companies can't resist screwing you around when they believe they have you over a barrel, and if you can't afford to pay the outrageous tuition they will want if you walk away, I guess you will indeed be over that barrel. -
You may want to check with ATS out of Minnesota. They will have you wherever you want.that is one company I liked when we were with them.
