Yeah I should change it to wannabe as I'm not officially a student yet. I just found out Watkins doesn't do their own training anymore so I'm looking into tech school or going with training at millis.
I really like both companies but with Watkins I can take my dog with me while Millis I can't, so I'm probably leaning more that way. Then again with Millis I can start sooner since they have their own training.
decisions...decision..decisions...
As for Roehl and their slip seating, check out their website. I could be wrong and trust me, I have been many, many a time.
Maybe I read it wrong because I was considering them at one time as well but that was a deal breaker for me.
Need some advice! again...................

This is taken from their site. Looks like it's just the Hometime plus 14/7 fleet that slip seats.
Drive 14 days, be off 7 days. You will be operating within the 48 states and Canada. When driving for a 14/7 HOMEtime Plus fleet you will be slip seating between 2 trucks with 2 other drivers. You will not be allowed to take the truck home and will be required to park the truck at a designated drop location. You must be fully rested prior to dispatch, beginning your 14 days on with a full complement of hours available to work.
Fleets and pay are subject to change without prior notifications.
Of course that could just be my area. When I put my zip in and do a fleet search. Your area could be different.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
A few months ago i talked to several drivers from these three companys.
My cousin has been driving for Watkins for a couple years and still likes it.
I think last year he averaged 2600 miles plus the extras, money is important but there are other things such as what will it be like one year for now.
Just research and compare and use common sense, and go with your gut.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
It's not nesessarily what company you pick, it's what company picks you. Send in all 3 apps at the same time, I doubt all 3 will call you. Go with the first one that responds.
American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Thanks for posting that, I was interested in the National Dry Van Fleet so no slip seating for me lol
American Truckerwulfman75 Thanks this. -
I already sent in all 3 applications in, and ALL 3 have called me back lol thats why I started the thread.

I could've sworn a couple of months ago it said it for all divisions but like I said that could just be my area.
Good luck to ya either way.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
There are over 450,000 trucking companies in the US. How are these three your only choices? Out of those choices though my OPINION would definitely be KLLM. I would strongly recommend you go with a trainer but my recommendations hold no weight! This could be a big factor into which their safety record is terrible. (WS) Just a thought, if you go with a trainer, yeah I know it sucks but it can also be a lot of fun, you are going to be showed the ropes and will most definitely make more money right off the bat, instead of trying to figure out the wonderful world of trucking. Driving the truck is the easy part but paperwork and broker knowledge and where to set yourself up for the good freight (good miles, good money etc...) is going to be a bit*h to learn by yourself. He is another thought too, (yeah I know I do a lot of thinking) if you aim for the companies that don't do a lot of advertising, chance are their turnover rate is much lower and their drivers are happier working there. Also the smaller companies will value you more and not just treat you like a number. One of the pains in the butt working for the super carriers is waiting in line with thousands of other drivers to get a load assigned to you. Good luck! Welcome to the forum.

These aren't my only options, these are the three out of the 450,000 that hire new students from my area that I'm interested in. Right off the bat I'll make more with W/S then the other two because there is no training pay for 3-6 weeks. But ya the trainer is the other thing im considering.
All three of these companies are small in comparison to the big boys, Roehl-1700 Trucks, KLLM-1380 Trucks, W/S 769 Trucks. I agree about the smaller companies thats one of the things thats got me leaning toward W/S is that fact that there so small.
Safe Stat Scores:
Watkins Shepard: DRSEA=47.31 VHSEA=54.98
KLLM: DRSEA=50.95 VHSEA=33.58
Roehl: DRSEA=24.22 VHSEA=26.63
Thanks for your help Chompi!
