I am just optimistic though the truck is a 2013 peterbilt model 587, has a cummins isx15 under the hood. I am not sure I want to buy a truck equiped with def and regen system. Other drivers have told me pre def trucks are better and dont have as many breakdowns as the newer def equiped trucks. I am not 100% sure how true that is though.

I don't know what kind of fuel program you have, or how ifta affects you individually as a lease operator, but pump price has little bearing on what is the best deal on fuel. You should talk with other lease operators at Central and get some advice on any ways to exploit any fuel discounts/programs they offer.

Yes thats what i have been trying to do, have yet to get some advice i dont already know. At least 35-40% of centrals driver and o/o bailed during the changover last month. I got hit with some crappy loads, my dm though has kept me running coast to coast so far. He says that how he plans to run me. So its not been so bad.

No apu atm will be getting one this summer though. I usually run at about 60mph, truck gets about 7.5-7.8 mpg at 60. Unless i do alot of rolling hills like 1-80 thru PA then it drops too about 6-5. I will not talk about maintenance jinxed myself a week ago. I run mainly off of recaps have been running the same clock for about a month now.

That's by choice for the vast majority of us. Only the guy in the mirror keeps us from getting good fuel economy.

Check out my list of Resources to Learn the Business of Trucking
Get the first two items on the list. They're free downloads.
Buy either the 6th or 7th item on the list; but not both because the material is similar. (Kevin Rutherford audio book or ATBS CABS).
If you're really hurting for money/cash flow right now and can't spend a few hundred for either items 6 or 7 then you might want to buy Partners in Business (3rd on list) it's only $20 and might be helpful but it's pretty basic and short.

    albert l Thanks this.
