How does one start a business with no money down and not get into debt? Seem he didn't understand that it takes money to make money.

Me too, but also sick of hearing from people who did not read the contract thoroughly, ask questions, and do their due diligence. I feel your pain, though. The learning curve is painful when it's this steep. You've run some miles now, keep your experience and get another company. Is your safety record in good shape? If so you should be able to get on with somebody right away. I still think that if you drove the miles, you should be paid, unless you owe them more than they owe you?

As far as Quality, they probably have something in the contract about that. It's still their truck, after all.

When he owes you more than you owe him.

Not that it matters to him now but the problem with the truck sounds like a computer setting that can be turned on that keeps the jakes from working when the lights and wipers are on. Supposed to be a safety feature to keep inexperienced drivers from using the jakes when it is raining.

I had never heard of this setting till this past week. My truck was in the shop because the jakes would not work with the lights on. They told me about the above mentioned computer setting but it turned out not to be the issue. My problem was in the wiring.
