1st-I wish I worked for your company! Big running Pete's and flexibility!

Having said that, my company went on elogs about 2-3 years ago, and I really thought I would have to quit-wasn't a case of "won't make any $$", just didn't think I could run totally legal, I had been running "my way" for waay too long. Too used to moving my hours around and doing my logs at the end of the day-making things "fit". Napping when I wanted, driving when rested, etc.

Now, I think I do, all-in-all, like the elogs better. Certainly much easier. No more "sweats" wondering if the next scalehouse is open and checking books, no more waiting for a load all day long, and then, at 1700 getting a 600 miler that has to deliver next day at 0700, etc. That stuff can be fun, but it also will wear you out in a short.

'Course I am a lot older than I used to be, also. If you do go on elogs, give it a month or two before you decide, that's my advice.

Ok, first off, unless your running a old engine, you already have a tattle tell in it. So they can pull up those records and compare it to your logs. So that argument is out.
Second, how are you running "perfectly legal" if your having to "move it around"? Your either cheating or your running legal. Elogs are not evil, they are not going to stop you from making money, nor will they tell you to drive if your tired. If you are tired, take a nap. If you only sleep 8 hours, fine sleep 8 hours, goof off two hours before you go to bed. Then there is no sitting up for all that time before you can drive.
If you don't want to run elogs then don't. But seriously stop acting like they are going to kill you by forcing you to drive or anything else. Are they fun to use? Who knows, they don't bother me, but I always ran legal anyway.

i am betting that your "case" is the exception regarding increased pay.everything else you posted does not compute.

    get it?

only way i can see increased pay. is if the pay was lousy to begin with.

but then again. guess it depends on the freight. reefers seems to be open 24/7 while flats work bankers hours. although some on here claim flats work 24/7 also. i haven't seen any yet. other then a load of seed i picked up in wyoming last week.

im going to say this once again i know no matter what if ur running illegal and u get in to a wreck u WILL get caught period end of story either by the ecm in ur engine security camera footage of u you walking out of the flying hook a receipt of ur pepsi u just bought plain and simple...u cant tell me otherwise. my thought on the hole sat tracking is ur are making it childs play for dot to nail you to the wall.

another thing why in the hell should me or anyone else in my company bend over and take it even though NONE of us want it? here we have a chance as drivers to tell the big man who's name is all over the truck how we feel and how we aren't going to stand for it. and you know what he's actually the type that actually LISTENS to drivers if the argument makes sense.

this thread was not started to ask what y'all think of elogs or tracking, this thread was started to gain ideas to build a solid argument to shoot this idea down. idea's that only guys that run these friggin things would know. simple period

I'm sorry im out here to make money cold hard greenbacks and enjoy my time out here not sit in a truck stop and twiddle my thumbs until my babysitter i mean elog tells me ok ur allowed to drive now.

as for roadside inspection's i dont sweat them one bit. my book is always and i mean always current, realistic nothing crazy everything is there, very neat and orderly (eclipse is a godsend) just a good solid book that cant be debunkt unless u start going through my ECM or my DEBIT card I avoid toll roads like the plauge if it is not feasable to do so i match to a tee when i go through it

do i kill myself NO do i run 2,000 miles a night NO! i wake up bright and early unload drive down the road re load and finish off anywhere between 630-700 miles a day. thats it nothing crazy and i'll back it up to get my restart or unload in the am

so my question to all of you again is what are some ways to shoot down the qualcom/people net (sat tracking) possibly elog threat that we have going on here in my company?

Show the partner your undying love. Send him on a DEEP Sea fishing trip. Ask him to bring his QUALCOMM buddy's with him. Titanic comes to mind. It is shark week on TV. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I am not wishing any harm, Just an idea.

i pull a 53 step and yes for the most part all my recievers work bankers hours as well except for a couple places

pay is a little above average i clear 1200 a week take home just about every week the few 100% legal guys here average about 600-700 Take home so ya pay raise is a good idea thank you we mainly pull brokerd freight though we do have some decent direct accounts

there is a halfway solution of tracking gps in the trucks so the boss knows where your at
but still on paper for your own creative writing class
that would eliminate being up on the toll road instead of 30
