Just took my Rig to my mechanic and I just bought ac compressor, two new expansion valves, seals, they did everything with the system charging and all that. The front ac works very good, the sleeper ac blows hat air, my mechanic was gone for the day so I could not get a hold of him. One ac line was cold and the other besides it warm. Called Freightliner and he told me it could be water heater control valve or heater switch on the sleeper control panel. What else can it be?
Need some advice on Sleeper AC not working!

AC? Sleeper? What are those?

if one line is cold and the other is warm that means the Freon is moving and doing its job so yeah my first guess is water control valve.

Sounds like the sleeper expansion valve needs to be replaced some have 2 one for the front one for the back, depending on the year you can just have one for both like mines, but newer trucks are located under the sleeper cab tight spot to get to.
I only have one its under the passengers seat thats where my expansion valve, evaporator and heating core is located at. -
Not sure on the Century,.. but on my Columbia my sleeper has its own condenser with its own lines for AC. It still uses the same heat exchanger on the front as the main AC,.. but the rest is independent of the main AC. Also has its own heater core and coolant lines for heat as well. Not sure how the control panel in the sleeper controls it all. But there is also an over ride switch on the front dash next to the main HVAC controls. Have you tried setting the front to max cool with the front fan to 100% and then set the over ride to see if it blows cool back in the sleeper? That should eliminate whether its in the control panel or not.
I spent $2000 replacing my AC system, plus the HVAC control panel with all new parts when I first bought my truck. Expensive,.. but one thing they do well in Fla and thats AC work. LOL That was just over a year ago and have not had a problem since.

Yea, I just took it to Rush truck centers on HWY 60 Adamo in Tampa and they did change the expansion valve under the sleeper cab and the other on top of the air filter. I have a 06 century and after I posted this thread, I started the truck and tested both and it started working normally, very cold actually in this Florida heat.

Your better off there then at Freightliner off 301.
I go to J&M in Ocala for major work, and then I have a guy locally in Brooksville that does my PM and maintenance services.

Hurst I'm glad you mentioned J&M because I'm currently looking for a shop that can do the big jobs, motor, trans and rears. My cousin recommends diesel head group in Ocala also. But couldn't get anyone on the phone.

A lot of Owner Operators know how bad Freightliner in 301 service are. Parts yes, they give me good deals but my service I take it to Rush truck centers and the Manager told me that they just bought a lot of International service shops around the country.
