I graduated from a driving school back in 2003 and went out on the road for a couple weeks, but didn't like it. My first born was on the way and I did not get along with my trainer.

My question is, if I wanted to start back driving what would I have to do? I know most companies require 2 years exp. and the least i have heard of is 6 months. Since I have like 2 weeks exp. what do I have to do?

I have thought about driving alot lately and think it's a better time in my life to do it. Thanks for your help, Doug.

My first question would be...why didn't you like it your first time around? If it was something that has since changed for the better, then I'd say go for it. But, be honest with yourself about that, before you even go through the hassle of getting back on the horse.
Now, to answer your question....:biggrin_255: you're probably gonna have to go at least through a company training program again. Maybe not the full school, or maybe you will. Just start researching the companies you'd be interested in driving for, and ask them up front.

Try one of the local LTL carriers.I know the economy is slow right now but most do have training programs. If you can get your foot in the door, you'll be alot closer to home to enjoy the newborn.Con way has terminal in Asheville.Stop in,it can't hurt.Try the other LTL carriers in your area. You might be able to work the dock until something opens up.
