Need some feed back on Leasing w/Panther Expedited

Panther is a BAD company. I had a truck there with a solo driver. Not sure how it is now but then it took three weeks to get paid. My driver was advanced over $500 before he pulled his first load.

I told Panther no more money for the driver. The next morning the gave him $50. I went to the office to see what the hell was going on and they said it was my problem. I pulled the driver off the truck and pulled the truck off Panther. Wrote a letter to the president of Panther and never heard anything back from them.

Stay away from Panther!!

 

I am with Panther right now driving my own truck as a solo driver and I'm moving somewhere else in the next couple of weeks.

As mentioned 1200 miles a week is typical. They advertise 2000+ miles per week but I've yet to see one of those. They expect you to run alot of deadhead, 30-40% typically. And running 150 miles for a 350 mile load is the norm here.

Mind you they only pay .35 cpm for DH so in the end your running that 350 mile load for $1.08 per mile. <- Not to bad a deal if your running 3500 miles a week. But . . .

Plus I get dispatched on alot of short runs < 150 miles, and thats always the end of my day.

I can see how some drivers for fleet owners complain about not getting paid. As an owner I have to check every load to be sure dispatch is entering everything correctly, and they don't quite often. Drivers for fleet owners dont have the ability to check, so they just have to hope and pray.

I haven't run teams here but maybe thats the way to go. Just one guys experience, take it for what its worth.

 

Panther is a joke I am still owed money from them.
